How Desiccant Rotor Dehumidifiers work

Desiccant Rotor dehumidifiers remove the humid the air and provide the relative dry air by a rotating desiccant silica-gel wheel, which is continuously re-dried again. In this series, the most important component is the desiccant rotor. It is formed as honeycomb, usually making of silica gel or molecular. When the process air passes into the 3/4 flutes of the wheel, it is absorbed by the desiccant. At the same time, a heated air stream, called the reactivation air, pass through the 1/4 flutes, warms the desiccant by evaporating the moisture within. Thus, the desiccant rotor recovers the dehumidification capability.

How to select a suitable Desiccant rotor dehumidifier?

The range of temperature of desiccant rotor dehumidifier can be applied is larger than industrial refrigerate dehumidifiers. Greeme's Desiccant Rotor Dehumidifiers GMR Series is in the range of -20℃ ~ 60℃.

To choose a suitable desiccant rotor dehumidifier, you need to consider the following points mainly.

  • Size & volume of your facility to calculate the required capacity.
  • Present humidity levels and the required humidity levels you need. We always consider the base of on the worst case scenarios, also taking different climatic conditions in different season into account.
  • Required humidity levels that you need to maintain regularly. This will depend on the products being stored by you.
  • Any moisture source or temperature source is also needed to be concerned.
  • Any fresh air will transfer into the room
  • Any people will go into the facility

Based on the above data, we can calculate the required dehumidification capacity and select accordingly. In some complicated cases, we need to know more details of your facility and environment.
